If disc golf is your thing, then just south of Wells Branch Parkway on Owen Tech Boulevard, is the Wells Branch Municipal Utility District’s full 18-hole course.
Although beginner-friendly, it has a creek and some hills to make it more challenging for the experienced player.
Need a little “tuning-up” in some areas of your game? If it’s your short game, The Golf Driving Range Round Rock has got a short-game complex, as well as a spot to tee off for practicing those drives.
The entire facility is lighted, and they have a mobile canopy so you can practice during the heat of the day. They also offer lessons and instruction if you need some help.
Forest Creek Golf Club’s par 72 course was named “Best Public Golf Course in Central Texas” by Golf Digest and has all the amenities that go along with a great round of golf – including a full-service grill, event center, practice range with putting green, and short-game complex.
Forest Creek also has some deals for seniors that include balls, food, beer/fountain drinks, raffle tickets, and $10 off for AM slots before 2 PM.

Municipally owned and operated by the city of Leander, Crystal Falls is a testament to the scenic Texas Hill Country and a welcoming golf destination for all ages.
Located 3 ½ miles west of Highway 183 on Crystal Falls Parkway, the course is nestled in the picturesque hills with abundant wildlife and a recipe for a relaxed, stress-free outing.
The pro shop, practice range, and bar and grill round out the amenities, and there are always discounts for juniors under 17, seniors over 60, and our heroes.
It’s safe to say that Avery Ranch Golf Club has it all: scenic play along Lake Avery, Toptracer Range, the patio at Sunset Grill, the finishing view on the 18th, and, according to Avid Golfer Magazine, “The Best Place to Hold a Corporate Event” in the Hill Country. North Town disc golf, located in Pflugerville, is part of the Northtown Park complex and has a definite suburban charm, with lots of trees that make this course not only beautiful but challenging.
Reservations at this course are limited, so if you’re planning a round with your friends, go to the park’s website and download the registration form. That will also include park rules and regulations, which they recommend you read before you complete and submit your registration.
After that, it’s out for a great day enjoying the competition, getting some exercise, and nailing some baskets.
As the newest disc golf course in the North Austin area, Davis Spring's nine-hole park is both challenging for the expert and accessible to the amateur. It’s designed by renowned disc course creator John Houck.
