The Heritage Farmstead Museum is a restored 19th-century farm with original tools and furniture, plus a replica 1895 schoolroom.  

The Interurban Railway Museum traces the history of the Texas Electric Railway, and has a vintage rail car. Trails wind through a nature preserve in Oak Point Park.

The Heritage Farmstead Museum

The mission of Heritage Farmstead Museum is to restore the late 19th century farm, tools and furniture  

The goal of Heritage Farmstead is to gather, conserve, and interpret information about the Blackland Prairie in the late 19th and early 20th centuries while making appropriate use of the authentically restored Farrell-Wilson Farmstead, an official historic monument. 

Interurban Railway Museum

At 901 E 15th Street in Plano, Texas, the former Plano Station, Texas Electric Railway is now the Interurban Railway Museum. It is a FREE museum that is situated in Haggard Park in Plano and the neighborhood of Historic Downtown Plano. 

The Interurban Railway Museum, operated by the Plano Conservancy for Historic Preservation, Inc. and owned by the City of Plano. 

When the Texas Electric Railway opened in 1908, the station was created in the Mission Revival/Spanish Revival architectural style. The railway ran from 1908 until 1948. 

Oak Point Park And Nature Preserve

Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve, Plano's largest park, is a gem in the city's park system. It is 800 acres in size and stretches from Parker Road in the south to Chaparral Road in the north as well as from Spring Creek Parkway in the west to Los Rios Boulevard in the east.  

The park has five miles of soft surface trails along Rowlett Creek and almost eight miles of concrete pathways. Daily sunrise to sunset access to the trails. 

There are 5 miles of soft paths and 3.5 miles of concrete trails in the park, several of which run alongside Rowlett Creek. 

There is an equestrian area in the park's southeast where guests can ride horses. 26 trails are available. Connecting to the North Trail is the Six Cities Trail in Allen is the Bluebonnet Trail.

The 0.88-mile Timber Chase Trail runs alongside the park's major lake near the park's middle. There are bobcats, coyotes, snakes, rabbits, turtles, and fish among the local wildlife.  

The oldest tree in Plano, a 200-year-old Bur Oak, is located at the nearby Bob Woodruff Park, which is accessible through a paved multi-use trail. From dawn till dusk, stand-up paddle boarding, canoeing, and kayaking are permitted on the lake. 

Visitors can enjoy performances outdoors while taking in the scenery at Oak Point Park's Amphitheater. The location can accommodate up to 2500 guests and serves as the starting point for 5K park walks.  

The Oak Point Park and Nature Retreat Center, a 7,000 square foot gathering spot for numerous significant events and outdoor instruction, is located directly off Los Rios Boulevard. 

Hot air balloons, fireworks, and skydiving are just a few of the enjoyable events that are part of the annual Plano Balloon Festival, which takes place at Oak Point Park. 

The 1K, 5K, Half-Marathon, and Relay Race are just a few of the running and walking events available. 

A unique outdoor adventure lasting two to three hours, Go Ape features several exciting activities like zip lines, Tarzan swings, and dangling obstacles like rail tracks.
