When I was searching for a roofer to replace our 30-something year old roof, Mighty Dog was the first company that came out and gave an estimate. I don't think I even contacted them, I put in a request for quotes through Angie's list - but they respo... When I was searching for a roofer to replace our 30-something year old roof, Mighty Dog was the first company that came out and gave an estimate. I don't think I even contacted them, I put in a request for quotes through Angie's list - but they responded faster than any of the companies I contacted directly. Basically, they hustle. And they showed up prepared. They had shingle samples for both brands they carried so I could look and see what I was getting, and got a quote to me quickly. I still shopped around, but other companies that provided quotes took forever to get back to me. Mighty Dog's whole sales pitch inspired confidence, and made it easy on me -- the other guys, not so much. They really went the extra mile, too. When my HOA required a shingle sample (ugh), they drove one out to me. Like, damn. I was expecting to have to order one, but they really did make it easy. Our roof has a ton of fiddly bits - extra eaves or decorative overhangs or whatever and they did a great job. The crew was at our house from 630am all the way to 6pm making sure everything was great. One thing I wanted to make sure happened was re-doing the flashing around our chimney. The house doesn't currently have gutters, and rain trickles down the side of the chimney, slowly eroding the mortar. They came up with a great flashing solution that directs water away from the chimney and will help with gutter installation later on. The only issue we had was they only did the flashing solution on one side of the chimney -- but they followed up the next day to make sure everything was okay, and when I mentioned it, they sent someone out within a week to make sure the flashing was done properly on both sides. I can say now I'm 100% happy with the new roof. With just having bought our house, financing companies didn't want to touch us and a home equity loan wasn't possible, but pro tip: we were still able to get a new credit card with introductory 18-month 0% APR. Might Dog worked with us on payment and sent us 2 separate invoices so we could put down 1/2 cash 1/2 credit. I can't speak to other roofers, this is the only roof I've had replaced - but based on my experience, I'd recommend these guys. Read more
