While Austin might be rapidly becoming a metropolitan city, it’s still home to some of the country's biggest outdoor enthusiasts. And luckily, there are plenty of greenbelts and parks in East Austin that are perfect for a picnic, a game of fetch with your pup, or just some good old-fashioned relaxation.

Here are some of the poular parks found in our East Austin Texas roofing service area.

Lake Pflugerville Park

This 180-acre reservoir, which was created to supply Pflugerville's residents with drinking water, has evolved into the city's most well-liked playground for families.

A 3-mile walking/jogging route, a playground, a boat launch, a pavilion, and a beach area are all included in Lake Pflugerville Park. Come outside and relax in our backyard! (Excepted are glass bottles and boats propelled by motors.)

At the lake, there are numerous possibilities to appreciate nature. There are Purple Martin bird homes on either end of the beach, where these migratory birds can be found starting in February.

Brushy Creek Lake Park

A 90-acre park with active and outdoor recreation options is called Brushy Creek Lake Park. With pathways, a playground, a fishing pier, and a wildlife watching area, the park is built around a 38-acre lake.

The park does have some rules that must be strictly observed, including permitting fires in barbecue grills only, no motorized boats, swimming, or hunting, and fishing only with a license. These rules are to protect the park and its citizens and should increase the safety and fun for everyone.

Richard Moya Park

Richard Moya Park, which was formerly a pecan orchard, is a terrific place to enjoy hiking and biking paths, have a family barbecue under big pecan trees, or let the kids run about on its playgrounds.

The serene, forested surroundings, which Onion Creek borders on the south, are a great location for environmental studies, field trips, and bird watching.

One of the most well-liked family gathering spots in eastern Travis County, the park has covered group shelters, two multi-use fields, and is convenient and easily accessible.

Meadow Lake Park

A larger park in the Round Rock neighborhood, Meadow Lake Park covers an area of 76.50 acres. This park is situated along a reservoir, which offers a stunning view. The 1.35 miles of path are open to cyclists, runners, and walkers looking for a quick exercise or a stroll. For those looking to enjoy a game of horseshoes, Meadow Lake Park has two horseshoe pits and a play area. There is also a water fountain, three grills, eight picnic tables, and a picnic shelter in the park.

East Metropolitan Park

A recreational space with varied uses, the 273-acre East Metropolitan Park is financed through park bonds that were authorized by the general public.

A disc golf course, fishing piers, a pool, sports grounds, and a playground are all provided by the recreation area. It's kid-friendly and handicap accessible, making it a great family friendly option.

Murphy Park

Murphy Park is a 120-acre park with playgrounds, swimming pools, lakes, and a lot of places to have picnics. It has sand volleyball courts, football fields, tennis courts, two swimming pools, picnic tables, and playgrounds. There are also three bathrooms. Everyone will find something here.

Here you'll find wide open spaces and plenty of shade. In the middle of the lake, you'll find a bird island which is fun to observe.

Hutto Lake Park

A lovely park tucked away close to the Lakeside Estates neighborhood, Hutto Lake Park is a 39-acre area containing a playground, picnic spots, a boat launch, a fishing pier, and a trail. It also has a bird blind for bird enthusiasts.

Beautiful walking routes, a picturesque lake with catch-and-release fishing, and more can all be found in Hutto Lake Park. It's a tiny patch of wilderness in your backyard.
