It's 12 miles (19 km) southwest of downtown Denver in the South Platte River Valley and includes many master-planned communities. Living in Highlands Ranch offers residents a suburban feel, and most own their homes. Highlands Ranch has a lot of parks, and the public schools here are highly rated. The first settlers in the area were attracted to the Englewood area because of its rich farmland and proximity to Denver. The neighborhood now offers residents a suburban feeling and a lot of parks.

Lone Tree is a city in Douglas County, Colorado, the United States, with a population of 10,218, according to the 2010 census. Lone Tree is a part of the Denver-Aurora-Lakewood, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area.
